Common Questions

Visa FAQs

How long is the student visa?
We offer a 1-year UAE student visa. It is only available to students who enrol on at least 8 months of semi-intensive or intensive General English.
Do you offer shorter student visas?
No. For shorter courses, many nationalities can study on a visa on arrival or a tourist visa. Check the rules for your passport, or ask our team.
Can I get an Emirates ID with a student visa?
No. UAE student visa holders do not receive an Emirates ID. Your passport and student visa are your main identification documents during your stay.
What happens if my visa application is rejected?
Your tuition is refunded in full; the visa fee is not. If you're inside the UAE, you may be able to extend your tourist visa or apply for another visa type — our team will advise you. All visa decisions are made by UAE immigration authorities.
What is the minimum attendance requirement?
Students on a student visa through Speak English Institute must attend at least 80% of their classes each month. If attendance falls below 80%, we must report it to UAE immigration and the visa may be cancelled.
