How to improve your English in Dubai
A lot of our students ask us how they can improve their English outside of the classroom. This is a good question as we strongly believe that learners will only truly improve their English by communicating outside of class. Of course, classrooms and teachers  help you improve. However, the teacher is only there to guide you, help you understand, put you on the right track. Then it is up to you, the learner, to go out into the real world and try to use everything you have  learnt in class.
Now, how do you do that? Well that depends on you really. There are many things you can do such as trying to meet people in bars or clubs. This option is not for everybody of course but it is a good way if you enjoy going to such places. Another solution is to join a club such as a book club, poetry club or something of the sort. This is a great way as you will meet people with the same interests as you, therefore having something in common to talk about. You can also join an art school or photography classes if that’s what you enjoy. Why not try going to events organised by the local community. A great website to find out what is happening in Dubai is Meet Up. It’s a social networking website that tells you what kind of events people are organising in Dubai. Not only in Dubai actually but all over the world. Check out the website: Meet-Up The best part is that it’s free to join!
At Speak we realise how important it is for you to meet new people when you arrive in Dubai. Most people find it difficult to get out and make new friends as they are not confident enough with their English. This is why at Speak English Institute we organise many social activities for our learners. These are great as they give you the opportunity to meet new people and also practice your English. The best part is that there is always someone there to help you with your English if needed.
So don’t be shy! Come and join us one day and see what it is all about. We guarantee that you will have a great time while improving your English. More information about our social events will be coming soon on our website.
Hope to see you all very soon.
